XBOX 360 AND PS3 REPAIR SERVICE
My name's Lynn Brown and I run a professional video game repair service based in
Oklahoma City since 2001 with long-standing customers from all around the world.  I've
been working on various game consoles for a long time and this website is here to
present the facts about your repair options - not just what you want to hear. For
console's that do have fixable problems there's no charge for my services at all unless I
actually fix it - anything less is considered an estimate or "diagnosis" which is always a
free service.  I'll only accept consoles though that I consider to be
both fixable and
worth fixing
- I don't want to encourage anyone to waste their time or money trying to
save a console that's just going to conk out again after a few months.

Standard game loading, tray, button, and power issues, are almost always due to a
straightforward hardware-type problem and are therefore excellent candidates for
repair - I can replace the broken part and your console's back to running good as new.
To give you an idea it's usually $40-$60 for me to install a new laser or other fairly
minor component in a 360. PS3's have Blu-ray capabilities though which makes for a far
more expensive laser - around $70-120 depending on which one your console requires.

The
3-light RROD and certain YLOD's on a PS3 however are almost always due to a
damaged microchip on the motherboard which can never be brought back to it's pristine
original condition. There are things you can do yourself that might get another few
months of life out of it and there's more about this on the " Xbox 360 tricks" page. I
don't offer these services myself but lots of people do so it's important you know what
you're getting into up front. One, two, and four-light RROD's on a 360 though often
indicate very fixable problems and if so I'll be happy to talk to you about it to see if it's
going to be worthwhile sending it or bringing it in for a proper free quote and repair.

All repairs - local or mail-in - preferably start with an email briefly stating the type of
console you have and your best description of the problem - I'll be happy to answer any
questions you have and try to give you a good idea of your repair options and pricing
before I se the console itself.  I'm at
LBrown@xboxrepairservice.com  and all emails will
be answered as quickly as possible. The physical address and phone number are below
and I personally answer as many calls as I can if I have time to do so and still get the
actual repairs taken care of. Emailing first for an appointment to come by though is
always a good idea so I can make sure and be here myself but dropping by is OK too if
you happen to be in the area.

NOTE:  For anything to do with game loading problems always check first that your
games are clean and scratch/damage-free. 90% of game loading problems are due to a
damaged or dirty game rather than the console itself so that's always the place to start
before pursuing any sort of repair. 360's, PS3's and PSP's all have a laser eye that
reads the game discs and these sometimes get dirty or scratched up too. Please don't
waste your money on one of those "laser cleaning" discs though as they usually do more
damage than good.

For PSP's check that the outer plastic UMD case isn't pushed in on one side as that also
causes loading problems. DS lites and i's have gold contacts on the game cartridge that
can be easily cleaned with alcohol and a Q-tip. Look inside the DS game slot with a
flashlight and carefully slide a plain brown/beige emery board in there to
lightly sand
the top of the pins a bit too. Blowing it out with canned air is fine but I don't suggest
using your own breath as the moisture will tend to further corrode the pins.
